Some of my favorite wedding day images are from the hours right before the ceremony. In those last few moments before the wedding, you can’t help but revel in the air of anticipation.
It’s normal for everyone in the room to catch a few of the bride’s butterflies. I might even pick up a few while doing my best to take in the scene and get a set of shots that the bride can look back on and help remember her final few hours as a bride to be.
It’s also a time for everyone to try and relax as much as possible. A few bottles of champagne always seem to help.
After a glass or two of champagne, the room always feels less cramped, which is welcome when you have a half a dozen (or more) folks trying to look their absolute best while they’re juggling blow dryers, straighteners and hair spray.
The most anticipated moment, as always, is the bride putting on her wedding dress.
For most in the room, they’ve already been privy and have probably seen the bride in a few dozen others. But for me, it’s always the first time and I’m always amazed how perfect it looks.
The intimate moments shared in the last hours before the wedding ceremony are worth remembering.
